EDGE 2006

A topic of the first conference was “Mobility”. The event was scheduled on May, 12th in Slovene  capital Ljubljana. The program included an opening keynote by Slovene Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek, three lectures and three panel discussions. Among invited speakers were Ernesto Illy, founder of Illy Caffe, Marcos Bavdaž from European Space Agency, Juergen Mayer, architect from Columbia University NY and other inspiring guests.

The conference was seeking the edge of mobility in its three key facets: emerging trends in transport, exciting development in communications and changes in the driving force of globalization, mobility of production factors capital and labor. These aspects will be gauged on the crossroad topic of lifestyle and the quality of living: is mobility in the 21st century more about people or information?
